Module 2 – Teaching Elementary Change Ringing
Module 2 is designed to provide the Teacher with the skills and techniques necessary to teach a Ringer how do to basic Change Ringing.
Teachers learn the importance of supporting learning in easy understandable stages continues and the critical importance of using effective feedback. Theory on coaching, motivation and the importance of developing foundation skills are supported by practical sessions using exercises and unusual methods to aid learning.
This is one of two Modules that make up the Integrated Teacher Training Scheme. You can complete either Module first, although most people choose to take Module 1 initially. The Module is open to Teachers who have had no prior teaching experience or who have taught before. Experienced Teachers can complete this Module as a Mentor.

Before the ITTS Day Course, the Teacher should find a Ringer to teach. The ITTS Course Tutor will arrange a Mentor to work with the Teacher, or the Teacher may have already have an arrangement with a suitable Mentor.
ITTS Module 2 Day Course
Teachers and their Mentors attend this day which consists of practical and theory sessions. The cost of this course is £10.00 per delegate.

Practical skill development period
After attending the ITTS Day Course, the Teacher and Mentor should login to the online learning website, Moodle. The Ringer should also be registered on Moodle, by contacting the ITTS Administrator. This gives them access to the extensive resources on the Learning the Ropes scheme.
During the skills development period of up to 1 year, the Teacher should work with the Mentor to gain teaching experience. This may include running a practice night, taking sessions at a Ringing Centre or running a training day.
Assessment
To complete the Module, the Teacher must…
- Have a completed Teacher Training Logbook, signed by their Mentor
- Complete the online assessment through the Moodle website
- Accept the Membership declaration of ART policies
- Carry out two assessed lessons with the Ringer, observed by their Mentor
At the completion of a Module, the Teacher becomes eligible to be an accredited Member of the Association of Ringing Teachers (ART). After passing a single Module, the Teacher will become eligible to be an Associate Member and after passing both Modules the Teacher will become eligible to be a Full Member.

- Aged 16+ (must be 18+ to complete Module)
- Personal ringing ability of at least Plain Bob Minor
- A suitable Ringer to teach
